Faculty Advisor

 Marlene Neill is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and is currently serving as the Chair of the Southwest District for 2011. She has 15 years of experience in journalism and public relations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas; Master of Arts degree in strategic communication from the University of Missouri; and recently completed the coursework for a Ph.D. in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.

Student Members

Jessica Fuentes is a junior journalism- public relations major from San Antonio, Texas. Apart from her journalistic endeavors, she serves as an account executive for the Waco Chamber of Commerce project. Although she is interested in PR as a career, her main goal is to become a lead anchor.

Ryan Garrett is a senior public relations major, minoring in religion, politics and society, from Rockwall, Texas.  He is an account executive for the BRIC project, and is also interning this semester at The Dwyer Group.  Outside of being a student, Ryan plays clarinet in the Baylor Golden Wave Band.  He is a second-year transfer student at Baylor from New Mexico Military Institute, Roswell, N.M.

Cameron Proffitt is a senior from Carrollton, Texas.  She is graduating in May with a degree in public relations and a concentration in marketing. She currently serves as an editorial intern at WACOAN Magazine and hopes to continue on in the magazine or fashion industry upon graduation.

Hannah Welborn is a junior communication specialist major with a public relations concentration from DeRidder, LA. She serves as a team leader for the Baylor Oso Fitness Digital Media. She currently is the account manager for the Black Gospel Music Restoration project. Outside of being a student, Hannah is an independent photographer. After graduation, she plans to work in the field of entertainment PR.

Cate Westenhover is a senior PR major from Austin, Texas. She believes in an interdisciplinary approach to public relations, focusing her studies on business, writing and visual communication. This semester, she serves as an account executive for the Waco Chamber of Commerce account. She also competes for Baylor’s cross country and track teams, and plans to work after college in communication in the running industry – with an apparel company, an event or a nonprofit.

 Freelance Members 

Mandy is a senior journalism-public relations major from Houston, Texas. She currently freelances as a graphic designer for Baylor Oso Public Relations.

Melissa Peguero is a junior journalism-public relations major. She currently serves as the Student Relations manager for Baylor Oso Public Relations. Her career goal is to work in fashion public relations.  She is a second-year transfer student at Baylor  from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
